You do not need the HNA handicap card.

All you actually need is the HNA Handicaps app and your HNA Player ID. When you go to the golf club where you are playing you can open your round by giving the person at the counter your SA ID or HNA Player ID. You can also open your round at the terminal with your SA ID or HNA Player ID. At the end of the round you enter your score on the app.

How to adjust your score for handicap purposes

Example 1:
Luke Mayo – Handicap 5
  • Actual number of shots (91) played does not always equal your score for handicap purposes (82).
  • In the below example Luke Mayo has a 5 handicap and therefore can have an unlimited number of  “double bogey / two over” scores on the card (in red) .  So if Luke scores more than 2 over on a hole he must adjust it to 2 over for handicap purposes.  This applies to players with a handicap up to 18.  These can be taken on any hole regardless of whether he strokes on the hole . Golf is a game of honour.  Scores will always be based on trust and the golfer playing by the rules.

Example 2:
Brent Latter – Handicap 19
  • Actual number of shots (102) played does not always equal your score for handicap purposes (95).
  • In the below example Brent has a 19 handicap and therefore can only take a  “triple bogey / three over” score on the card (in red) on stroke 1 .  So if Brent scores more than 2 over on a hole where he does not stroke and 3 over where he does stroke for handicap purposes he must adjust his score to 2 over and 3 over respectively.  This applies to players with a handicap of 19 or more.  Golf is a game of honour.  Scores will always be based on trust and the golfer playing by the rules.
