You do not need the HNA handicap card.

All you actually need is the HNA Handicaps app and your HNA Player ID. When you go to the golf club where you are playing you can open your round by giving the person at the counter your SA ID or HNA Player ID. You can also open your round at the terminal with your SA ID or HNA Player ID. At the end of the round you enter your score on the app.

How to adjust your score for handicap purposes

Example 1:
Jody Martin – Handicap 5
  • Actual number of shots (92) played does not always equal your score for handicap purposes (84).
  • In the below example Jody has a 5 handicap and therefore can have a net "double bogey / two over”  on the card (in red) .  So if Jody scores more than 2 over on a hole where he does not get a stroke, he must adjust it to 2 over for handicap purposes.  Jody may have a 3 over par on holes he strokes on. Golf is a game of honour.  Scores will always be based on trust and the golfer playing by the rules.

Time limit on entering scores - From GolfRSA
A score should be returned on the same day as the round was played but no later than 24 hours
after completion of a round. The period of 24 hours is taken from 23:00 on the day of play to 23:00
the following day. Scores not returned during this period will result in a penalty score being entered
on the player’s behalf. Such scores are not to be deleted or modified by the player’s home club,
unless exceptional circumstances warrant such action. A player is obliged to enter a score on the
system before another round is played.
